Febo Cincotti is Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering (ING-INF/06) at the Antonio Ruberti Department of computer, control and management engineering
of the Sapienza University of Rome.
He holds MSc degree in Electronics Engineering (1998) and a PhD degree in Biophysics (2003).
Between 2003 and 2011 he has had a research scientist position at IRCCS Fondazione Santa Lucia, Rome (with team leader duties since 2009). Since 2011 he has a
permanent position (assistant professor) at the Sapienza University. He is also senior research scientist at the Neuroelectrical Imaging and Brain Computer Interface
Laboratory of IRCCS Fondazione Santa Lucia (being the department and the foundation partners in an agreement).
His scientific activity is framed in the methodological and applicative research on processing of neurophysiological signals and includes the development of direct
Brain-Computer Interfaces for assistive and rehabilitation purposes.
He is co-author of over 140 journal papers and more than 100 conference papers (indexed by Scopus). His (Scopus) H-Index is 44
He is considered an international expert in the field of Brain-Computer interfaces. He has been member of the advisory board of the “Future BNCI” Coordination and
Support Action (FP7). He delivered 12 invited talks/lectures in international conferences/schools.He served as opponent in PhD committees (Aalborg University,
Denmark; EPFL Lausanne, Switzerland).
He has been Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering
He has been principal investigator in 3 EU-funded projects (€ 637'000), and coordinator of a national charity-funded project (€ 336'000). He has also been co-PI in 5
EU-funded projects, and participated to numerous international and national research projects.
He teaches in the MSc program in Biomedical Engineering and Data Science. He supervised more than 20 MSc theses and co-supervised 4 PhD theses.
Since 2013 he holds the National Scientific Habilitation as Full Professor
