Teaching material

Lecture notes and handouts (see below for what is actually in the syllabus, this is only a list of the avilable material, each year the actual syllabus is different and includes only a part of the material listed here)

1) Lecture Notes (in italian): Dispense

2) Lecture Notes (in englis): Lecture_Notes (please note that the italian and english versions are different in their contents)

3) Article on Gneps (in english) : GNEPs

4) Further notes on GNEPs (in english): Further_on_GNEPs

5) Material on Auctions (in english): Dominated Strategies and Second Price Auctions

6) Exercises with solutions (almost all of them, in english): Exercises

7) A few introductory exercises and examples transcribed by students (in italian, there might be inaccuracies!)): Further Simple Exercises

8) A collections of (partial) Exam tests (in english), a few of them also have the solutions: Exams

9) A paper written by Roger Myerson, who in 2007 was awarded the Nobel prize in Economic Sciences. This simple and pleasent paper discusses the role of game theory and, in particular, of the concept of Nash equilibrium, in the economic theory and, more in general, in the social sciences: Myerson

Please note that I am posting only recent exams, since the syllabus changes every year. In spite of this you may find a few exercises that are not related to your syllabus (see below): simply discard them. Also note that some of the exams in 2020 and 2021 were done online because of Covid and therefor have a different flavor and are not representative of typical exam exercises; nevertheless I included them because I believe they are good exercises to work on.

Syllabus A.A. 2022/2023

Syllabus for italian speakers:

From 1: All of Chapter 1, but skip propositions 1.5.8 and 1.6.2 and the proof of Theorem 1.6.2. All of Chapter 2, but skip Lemma 2..4, the proof of Theorem 2.16, the proof of Corollary 2.18, Definition 2.3.3 and subsequent comments, Section 2.4.2, Section 2.4.3 with the exception of the statement of Corollary 2.4.14, Proposition 2.5.4.

Students are strongly encouraged to read 9.

Syllabus for non italian speakers

All of 2 (except the parts barred there; please note that in the very few pages of the Lecture nots the format may be odd in places, just ignore this)

From 3 and 4: everything except the parts that are barred in 3.

Students are strongly encouraged to read 9.
